Our Parish

Serbian Orthodox Church Community Newcastle was founded on 28 June 1959, and St Naum of Ohrid Church was consecrated on 7 July 1968. This parish is a part of the Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand of the Serbian Orthodox Church under the omophorion of His Grace Bishop of Australia and New Zealand K.K. Siluan (Mrakic).

Our Faith

The Orthodox Church is the original Church founded by the Lord Jesus Christ and described in the New Testament. Her history can be traced in unbroken continuity all the way back to Christ and His Twelve Apostles. For over twenty centuries, she has continued in her undiminished and unaltered faith and practice. Today, her apostolic doctrine, worship, and structure remain intact. The Orthodox Church maintains that the Church is the living Body of Jesus Christ.

Our Church

Welcome to the official website for the St. Naum of Ohrid Serbian Orthodox Church. We are a small Christian parish here in Newcastle, striving to both live the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ and spread the ancient Orthodox Christian Faith. Stop by for a visit and experience the oldest living Christian Tradition on earth. Services are primarily conducted in Serbian, Church Slavonic and English. All are welcome!
